How Calories Are Calculated
This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation to estimate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) — the calories your body burns at rest. The BMR is then multiplied by an activity factor to get your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
Male BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age + 5. Female BMR = 10 × weight + 6.25 × height − 5 × age − 161.
